Obese adolescent girls presenting with excess midline hair growth, dandruff, acne, darkening of skin around neck and menstrual irregularities may be having poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), with high risk of future infertility. Hence the importance of early detection and medical management apart from just cosmetic management. Menstrual irregularity may be corrected by weight reduction alone. Apart from good menstrual hygiene, washing yourself in a squatting position before going to bed, would help avoid genito-urinary infections.
